"NOW" call! Load Three!!

Recommended Posts

I just got the call - my sister-in-law is in labor; very early stages, with her 3rd baby, a wee precious little girl.

This little one has been trying to get here since her 4th month in utero...and last Tuesday we had a false alarm. But it's for real this time. Real real, like really for real and like for sure and certain. Full term and really really real.

The doctor said it's time; today or tomorrow will see the entrance of another blessed soul into this world, and her Noni (me) is sooooo excited. I'm back-up; my brother tends to have issues with blood (he passes out...but made it through the other two births fine)...

Load THREE, it's a NOW call!

And I am answering...."Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

YAYAYAYAY!!!! I just had to share....more as it develops. And pix, if possible....

Julie - my sisterinlaw - apologized for not being able to "hold out" 'til my birthday; I laughed at her...hey, it's all good! Besides, the baby is early anyway - she's due on the 13th of May, but I saw Julie on Monday night, and told her she was having the baby this week.

I suppose one could say we are in a holding pattern...looking for the hole in the clouds...

Contractions stopped about 4 pm. Baby and Mom are both just fine. I, however, am a dithering wreck....'cause I'm no longer back-up; my brother went to work, and he will be about 4 hours out if the call comes. So it's me.

Good grief, I hope she doesn't have the baby tonight. I don't mind filling in if my brother is passed out or something, but...but...I'm primary until he gets home tomorrow morning (around 6-7 am...).

Julie's sleeping, so I'm hard pressed to think it will happen any time soon...seems to me to be impossible to sleep during labor. OTOH, she was sleeping when Johnathan decided it was time to come; she woke when her water broke, and only had about 3 hours of labor, 20 minutes of pushing, and wee man was here.

Yikes....

We shall see what we shall see. Pager and phone are coming to bed with me tonight.
