CrazyIvan 0 #26 May 3, 2004 QuoteOh, Mr.Octopus' the arch-rival of Spiderman this time. Whoo-whoo. I'd rather pay the full price of a ticket when Spiderman takes Venom on!!! That'd be an interesting challenge for the filmmakers. Whoops, I didn't mean to sound like a comic nerd. Ok..now we're talking, Spidey looks awesome, and if they keep doing it right, a whole collection of spidey movies would rock, I mean, check some of the possible villains to come: - Scorpion - Elektro - Mysterio - The lizard - Hobgoblin - Rhino - Venom Etc, etc,etc...__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. Slappie 9 #27 May 3, 2004 Quote....which, was kinda entertaining...but.........IT SUCKED!!! Ivan, you could tag almost every movie coming from Hollywierd lately with this one. I've not been to a theatre in ages, because it cost to much and the product is total suckage. Now I did see a couple decent ones on home video this weekend. Big Fish = exellent home movie, glad I didn't pay to see it on the big screen Matchstick men = Throughly enjoyed it!! Badass ending, I loved the major twist. Was kind of predictable though, you just could figure out when. CrazyIvan 0 #28 May 3, 2004 QuoteFor similar reasons, I don't understand how they could ever do a "Superman v. Batman" series (Superman would make Batman into a grease spot); nor how they could have made a movie (coming soon) about combat between "Alien v. Predator." Exactly, what in the hell is that "VERSUS" thing?, in my opinion, just a VERY LAME attempt to make a movie look "cool", I never liked that "versus" trend, WTF is "Jason vs Freddy", "Superman vs Batman" and "Alien vs Predator", what's next? "Rugrats vs South Park"...I mean...C'MON" __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.

diablopilot 2 #30 May 3, 2004 Great. Yet another example of Hollywood taking a great author's vision and twisting it into a 22nd century "Die Hard". Anyone remember/know what the three laws of robotics are?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. Plus the original trailer for that used the music from the Neo/Smith final fight._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Anyone remember/know what the three laws of robotics are? Yup. That book is classic sci-fi! I'm not looking forward to this movie, but may end up seeing it just to see the damage._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... ChasingBlueSky 0 #34 May 3, 2004 QuoteQuoteI'm hanging out for "Van Helsing" I'm hoping that movie doesn't look like "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"....which, was kinda entertaining...but.........IT SUCKED!!! Van Helsing - read the reviews on aintitcool - looking to be worse than the Mummy Returns. The camera work looks amazing...but from what I have see so far, it looks just like another LXG. Day After Tomorrow - another end of the world movie from the same guys that brought you ID4. Yawn...I could just watch 10.5 Harry Potter will be the biggest picture of the summer next to Spiderman...but I am sure there will be a sleeper (Blade 3?). I don't think that Will Smith has the draw he used to, and the target audience has no idea how classic that story is. As far as next Spiderman villians, I would love to see Sandman. However, if you look at the way Raimi is approaching the movies - he is trying to find a very logical and real world feel to these movies...this way Spiderman really does feel like anybody...after all, he was the original average joe superhero (according the Mr Lee). Therefore they will never go with a Sandman, Venom, Carnage. However, they do have the character that becomes the Lizzard in this movie....hmmmm. Sinister Six anyone? Jeff - as a comic book geek, thos matchups were usually done as a draw to sell more books. However, the matchup of Batman/Superman in Dark Knight returns is still one of the better stories out there....and yes, Batman won since he didn't play fair. The movie I am looking forward to getting made at the same time scared of it getting made is "Watchmen." There is no way it could have the entire story in just one movie. (I just realized I lost my 1st edition copy of the novel when my basement flooded last year). I look at how bad they butchered Road to Perdition (yes, that was a comic book) and it only worries me what they will do with the graphic comic novel. Slappie 9 #35 May 3, 2004 QuoteAnyone remember/know what the three laws of robotics are? The Three Laws of Robotics are: 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. Handbook of Robotics 56th Edition, 2058 A.D The Three Laws did not appear in Asimov's first two robot stories, "Robbie" and "Reason", but the First Law was stated in Asimov's third robot story "Liar!", which also featured the first appearance of robopsychologist Susan Calvin. (When "Robbie" and "Reason" were included in I, Robot, they were updated to mention the existence of the first law and first two laws, respectively. "Robbie" was also updated to include a cameo appearance by Susan Calvin.) Yet there was a hint of the three laws in "Robbie", in which Robbie's owner states that "He can't help being faithful, loving, and kind. He's a machine - made so." The first story to explicitly state the Three Laws was "Runaround", which appeared in the March 1942 issue of Astounding Science Fiction. I kind of remembered them, but couldn't quote them. So I ripped all my answer from the internet. "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them."
