lawrocket 3 #1 April 30, 2004 We've got a problme with a couple of pairs of stinky Birkenstocks. Other than the most malodorous air, they are in great shape and we don't want to toss them out. I've seen a thread on de-stinking Tevas, but those techniques would be inappropriate. Any advise on turning foul odors into pleasant aromas on Birkenstocks? My wife is hotter than your wife. Nightingale 0 #9 April 30, 2004 My brother put his in a large tub of baking soda for a week. seemed to work. get large tub. fill halfway with baking soda. put shoes on top. finish filling tub with baking soda so shoes are buried. Also, a light spray of rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide may work. Odors can be caused by bacteria, so anything antibacterial can help.

DrunkMonkey 0 #11 April 30, 2004 Yep. Solution: Buy Tevas. The sole has an anti-microbial infused in it...

MrBester 0 #13 April 30, 2004 I've had different pairs of Birkenstocks over the years and can tell you from experience that there is absolutely no way of de-stinking them. I'm very sorry to be the bearer of unpleasant news but someone had to tell you...

MrBester 0 #18 May 6, 2004 QuoteBabylon 5 fan, Bester? Actually, you're the first one to ever notice that (in about 8 months). How about you? I thought B5 is well known in the US (although it was aired years ago) but I've never ever met anybody on this site mentioning the show. Sad but true. MrBester 0 #20 May 6, 2004 QuoteThe Shadows got most of the fans. I agree. The great arc that evolves over the 5 seasons of the show is the best concept I have ever seen on TV. I was totally hooked after finishing the first season. Amazing stuff!
