ChasingBlueSky 0 #6 May 7, 2004 How close are those fires to Lake Elisnore DZ?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
Michele 1 #7 May 7, 2004 Pretty close, as the crow flies, but there's a whole town, freeway, and lots of other roads between it and the fire. When I was coming home last night, the fire had made it to the east side of the freeway, but not jumped it, and was being pushed back on itself. I don't know if that photo is of the Elsinore fire - there are several burning in the area. the DZ's safe, barring something really unforseen. The weather's changed, thank God, and the heat's abated. While we are still terribly dry, and while these fires are "early", we should be fine. What you talkin bout Willis The last picture in the "Week in Pictures" presentation is the pic of the Polar Bear and her cub. The caption describes the cub as "22 kilograms (10 pounds). They are incorrect. 22 kg = 48 lbs.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! nacmacfeegle 0 #15 May 7, 2004 People, there's really no need to argue here... go to http://www.joshmadison.com/software/ And download 'convert', its really useful for converting archaic units of measurement to ISO recognised standards. BikerBabe 0 #17 May 8, 2004 Wow...there are some really incredible shots this week. Photography at it's finest. The Holocaust memorial one with the concrete slabs is amazing. It takes a lot for a photo to grab your eye and not let go, and there were several in there this week. But I voted for the GK, of course! I think it's about time DZ.com flooded this poll. I know there are more than 612 people out there...Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
