Brian425 0 #1 May 10, 2004 I finally got back in the air!!!! My reign as the god of wind and rain might end this year. My last jump was 11/9/03. After that is was just getting too cold to jump in upsatate NY. So I came back in March, it rained and I drank beer. I came twice in April, once it rained and the second time the winds died down about 1 hour after I started drinking beer. I went last week, the wind kept me down and I had to drive so I couldn't even have beer. Today the weather was just miserable when I arrived at 9:00 am. So I hung out and listened to Linda's first jump class and took naps. At about 3:30 I was pretty much ready to call it a day. When I heard the magic words, "Are you ready to jump?" and I said "Hell Yea!!!" So my exits still suck. (I didn't think they would magically get better after 6 month off) For some reason, I still put my head down against my chest when I exit the otter. I get stable pretty quick; but, I must improve. So first jump was pretty good, stable in my arch, good turns and ok forward backward movement. My tracking needs work, I still track in a semi circle. Second jump my instructor told me they need more people to get the otter up. He said you can just do a solo and work on the exit. My exit was the same, plane, ground, plane, ground, stable. So I was just enjoyin freefall and I tracked, turned and tracked back. It felt great!!!!!!! I'll be back next week. Work on my exits and jump some more. I also picked up my rig today!!! So no rental gear for me this year!!! The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
