atsaubrey 0 #1 May 8, 2004 Ok so I got my A about two weeks ago and went to the DZ to make a jump this afternoon. One more load going up and i'm asking around to jump with someone and be actually "legal" to do it. Well, I end up with no takers and one fella looks at me and says no freaking way I could keep up. So I end up making another freaking solo jump. So you know, I'm not pissed at anyone and definately not the guy i'm talking about (he didn't mean it in a negative way). Sorry thought i'd vent, but damn its depressing making a solo with a license. If anyone cares I plan on being at Elsinore tomorrow *hint *hint"GOT LEAD?" bch7773 0 #3 May 8, 2004 dude unfortionately at this point in your skydiving, you are probably gonna end up doing a lot of solos. its unfortunate, but true. MB 3528, RB 1182
Amazon 7 #4 May 8, 2004 QuoteGo do a belly jump with some freefliers Yeah what Squeak said.. see if they can dock on you on your belly with them in a sit.. good practice for them to slow down a bit in a sit or headdown... that is IF they really can fly
bodypilot1 0 #5 May 8, 2004 YES! Do what bch7773 the fuck said and do some FUN solo jumps! You'll find someone that can fall as fast as you sooner or later! -www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
nightjumps 1 #6 May 8, 2004 Yes, it does suck. Can't imagine why the locals at your DZ can't get a little more creative in helping a fellow skydiver from being frustrated. You are a perfect candidate to help those in your area achieve the vSCR award, where no more than 50% of the 8-way formation may be on their belly. Read: QuoteThe Vertical Star Crest Recipient formation may launch up to a 4-way and participate in a freefall formation involving eight (8) or more skydivers in any freefall configuration (sitting, standing, sideways, heads-down, inverted, flat). No more than one-half (1/2) of the formation may fly belly to earth (flat). The final formation must be held together for a minimum of 5 seconds. A still photograph or video is required to receive the award. http://www.scr-awards.com In other words, you can be the belly solo and have 7 FF folk dock on you to win the award. I got three great jumps in...and kept my eyes out for you. And you never showed. Yeppers.... SuZQflies 0 #14 May 10, 2004 QuotePerris! I recommend you get some tunnel time in with a coach. It accelerates your learning immensely, and gives you some idea of your skills. Also, others recognize this and are more likely to be comfortable jumping with you sooner... Meanwhile... do specific drills when you do solo so you don't feel it's a waste. And open high to get some canopy work in... Just stuff I felt helped me... Dr. "Q" PMS#151Shugah,Shugah,How'd Ya Git So Fly?
