Internet is pissing me off

Hey guys, anyone here know of any good FREE popup blockers or spyware killers? My computer has been deluged with toolbars on my IE browser and I cannot take them off.

There are many.

I like Panicware's Pop-up Stopper. (http://www.panicware.com) There is a free version that works great. I also recommend Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) This is another free application that includes regular reference file updates.

I use the "common sense" one. It has to be downloaded sometime between birth and the late teens.

To stop the pop ups use the google toolbar, works great and you have direct access to google.

FOr the spyware use Adaware from Lavasoft. Works great.

pop ups --> google toolbar works pretty good.
the rest of the junk ---> i use both adaware and spybot.

there are others, but i like these.
i hate these crappy adwares

The BEST tool is Zone Alarm Pro, strong firewall, popup blocker, spam killer, and easy as pie.

Just use the Mozilla browser. You can just turn popups off. No added stupid software needed.

Sounds like a lot of spyware to me too. Webroot makes a good, free, spyware tool: "Spy Sweeper" www.webroot.com. Another tool that is worth buying from Webroot is "Window Washer".

Then, getting a firewall is a good idea too. Ivan's suggestion for ZoneAlarm is good (ZA Pro isn't free though), you can find "basic" ZoneAlarm for free download all over the place.

I don't use a pop-up blocker anymore, but I don't suffer any deluges of pop-ups (unless I click a link directing me to some weird site, usually from here ). What I do have is BlackICE up-to-date, and I use Window Washer about once a week, and run Spy Sweeper about once a week too. I don't get spam, pop-ups, virii...

Bulletproof, no...but not too bad...

second that. i use netscape 7.1. no pop-ups. and tabbed browsing - can't browse without it now.
