skymama 37 #1 May 11, 2004 How the hell do I get these off my computer? They are causing major problems for me! Both Spybot and Ad-Aware can find them, but they can't remove them because they are in memory. Help! edit: I found the "Toolbar" folder in my Program Files, but it won't let me remove it. Also, there's another folder there called, "thisknobload" that isn't supposed to be there and it won't let me remove it either. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
jjiimmyyt 0 #2 May 11, 2004 If you download the lastest version of adaware (instead of just the update) then run a scan it should recognize that they are memeory resident and remove them them on next reboot. hope this helps "This isn't an iron lung, people. Glipazide 0 #4 May 11, 2004 QuoteSounds like you got hit by some form of the Sasser virus.... Nope. No traits of the sasser. Andrea, try this: 1.Click on the Start button and select Settings and then Control Panel. 2.If you are running Microsoft XP, you can go directly to the Control Panel from the Microsoft Windows Start button. 3.When the Control panel window opens, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs Icon. 4.When the Add/Remove Programs Properties window opens, locate the program that you would like to uninstall. *The software may be listed as 'Internet 404', 'MSIETS' and/or 'Tools for Internet Explorer'. Click once on the program to be uninstalled and then click on the Add/Remove button and follow the instructions. As for the IBIS toolbar, remove these files: programfilesdir+\common files\btlink programfilesdir+\toolbar Let me know if this helps. Vallerina 2 #5 May 11, 2004 Ha! Thanks! I just complained to wildblue about the IBIS toolbar that won't go away. I'll have to try that before studying (it's not that I procrastinate my studying....)There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

skymama 37 #8 May 12, 2004 Thanks for all the suggestions. I was able to delete that funky file, thanks Seth! As far as the HUntbar and IBIS toolbar, they're still on there. I don't see any of those programs listed in my add/remove program file. When I try to delete the toolbar folder, it says "access denied". Not as many weird things are happening today though, thank goodness. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
VectorBoy 0 #9 May 12, 2004 Guys what if the suspect program is write protected and keeps you from deleting it unless you go to that company's web page and get their program which keeps reinfecting your computer? Ezula is the program name.
