CrazyIvan 0 #1 May 11, 2004 Ok, so this is the situation. I have this system running WinXP Pro, and, after using the computer, I clean the cache, temp internet explorer folder, cookies, offline files, history, I even delete the HISTORY file and any leftovers in the TEMP directory, in other words, I do a in-depht cleaning, however, AFTER rebooting the machine there are some links in the history, let me explain better, say I went to DZ.com so, the next time I open the browser and try to go to DZ.com again, the auto-complete shows the link, if I do all the mentioed above, there's nothing, which is fine, but, if I do all of it again AND reboot, it stills shows up, in short, rebooting the machine makes "something" load again with "deleted" info. I've searched the registry, files all over the HD and nothing, my question is WHERE IN THE HELL IS THAT INFO BEING STORED??? Anyone?__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.

ScubaSteve 0 #3 May 11, 2004 If you are on a corp network there could be a GPO mapping all the history data to server with read/write (no delete) for you.
ChasingBlueSky 0 #4 May 11, 2004 Under Internet Options, click the Content tab, then go to Auto Complete. Clear out forms and passwords, and uncheck which ones you do not want IE to save. I think that should fix your problem - auto complete is not saved the same way that cookies, history, etc, are saved._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... labrys 0 #6 May 11, 2004 Check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs For leftovers after you clean up but before you reboot? Probably no use since you searched the registry though.Owned by Remi #?

Kid_Icarus 0 #10 May 11, 2004 I'd open the tower and check inside. cloud_monkey 0 #16 May 11, 2004 Once you've turned auto complete off you should download Tracks Eraser Pro. Even with auto complete turned off some web pages stay in the history - I don't know why or how - But, if you run TE Pro once it cleans not only your IE history but recent documents and all that shit too - good program, works well Ciao, z
