turtlespeed 226 #1 May 13, 2004 I am doing a bit of research - How many people are involved in team training. More specifically - how many people are involved (total number) in teams at all? 1000? 2000? 5000? 10000? This isn't a poll - it's a quest for information. If there is any resorce that I could use to find out - that would be helpful too. I'm cross posting this to General Skydiving because I know that some of Them don't visit here often.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
Ron 10 #2 May 13, 2004 What are you asking for....Number of people on teams? In the US or the sport as a whole?"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
rehmwa 2 #3 May 13, 2004 You could search the nationals and world meet pages and get a count of teams (RW, FF, FStyle, CrW) and multiply those counts by team sizes. Then recognize that there are even more teams than are documented. For 4-way, goto www.skyleague.com and there is a pretty extensive list posted there (usually fairly complete by July) under team rankings in the various difficulty levels (click the 'scores' button). Likely all those team train to some extent or another. ... quade 4 #5 May 13, 2004 Nationals over the last several years has had 75 to 80 4-way teams. That's about 375 to 400 people (gotta count the camera flyers too) that are at least serious enough to go to Nationals. There are maybe twice that number that jump 4-way but for some reason don't go. Might be financial -- might be work -- might be their team blew up half-way through the season. There are also 8-way, 10-way and 16-way but most of those are made up of folks that are also doing 4-way. Typically (except for the very top teams) they build an 8-way teams on site out of two 4-ways and a 16-way teams out of two 8-ways. So, in doing your research, make sure you don't just total up all the 4-way team, then 8-way, then 16-way because you'd probably be counting a lot of folks twice or maybe even three times.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
