weegegirl 2 #1 May 13, 2004 In reference to this original post... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1072491;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; This guy who was selling this canopy owns a consignment shop and the canopy and a jumpsuit were brought into him for sale. He was flooded with about 50 emails calling him a theif when he tried to sell it on ebay. He really wants to cooperate and is not interested in selling stolen gear. He has checked and the much older canopy is not listed as stolen anywhere that he can see. He would like to know if it is okay for him to repost the item for sale, or if he should wait longer. QuoteLIZ; I did contact dropzone they said there is no record of it being stolen but he said its an older chute thats not used anymore? Its a XL cloud by para-flite. Should i relist it or wait ?? I also had the jump suit listed but i took that off also. I emailed Kevin Gibson on this. Any help i would app. it. JIM The canopy is an XL cloud by para-flite with a serial # T 5635. Is it okay for him to repost this item for sale?? What does everyone think??? I think it's okay if nobody has responded and it is not listed as stolen. wmw999 2,589 #2 May 13, 2004 If it's not stolen, I can't imagine why it would be a problem. Someone should probably run a strength check on the fabric first -- if it's basically jumpable, it would go for more, to me an XL Cloud would still be a decent canopy for a bigger newcomer to the sport. I simply wrote this guy asking him if he knew where he got the canopy because evidence pointed towards it having been found in the woods. He said he knew nothing about it and the lines were all tangled up. Don't you think we should investigate when canopies such as this one appear on ebay? The guy actually very much appreciated the inquiries because he does not know if the people who brought the canopy to him had stolen it or not. Damn. Getting a little defensive, aren't you, Weegegirl? You said the guy claimed to have received "about 50 emails calling him a theif [sic]." My comment was directed at anybody who made those kinds of unsubstantiated accusations. I didn't say anything about you.
