CloudOnMyTongue 0 #1 May 6, 2004 Okay so this is a spinoff thread. I just watched that movie last week and I have a question that someone probably knows the answer to. In the movie the golden knight who was #8 (whos name I can't remember) was wearing this really cool full face helmet. Could someone tell me what helmet he was wearing? thanks
bertusgeert 1 #2 May 6, 2004 I saw that, mmmm.... I wonder too.... And who was the dude's double when he swooped into the pond and ate it? That was pretty crazy to do it intentionally... --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
Amazon 7 #3 May 7, 2004 The actors name is Casper Van Dien .... Delmira. No idea what kind of full face I guess I would have to watch it YET AGAIN to see... I dont remember the any of the Knights swooping the pond at all.. Just the people on the Miami Team... so it would have been the stunt double for Stephen Baldwin .... Agent Victor 'Vic' Cooper And for those of you thinking it.. NO I had NOT seen the dayum movie before I bougtht my RED Flightsuit
freeflygoddess 0 #4 May 7, 2004 I have that video on DVD, my mom thought it would be a good birthday present last year, she also got my Dropzone...umm they sure are funny to watch. Oh well at least it wasn't Point Break, gosh I hate that movie.... Any ways, the knights in that movie besides #8 were all Knights at that time for real. I just remeber James pointing hisself out to me and the guy who swoops into the hanger, I can't remeber his name right now, was at Coolidge for training with the 4 way team in Jan 2003. I don't rember any pond chowing in that movie... oh wait I do remember Steven Baldwin's Character crash landing a bit though...hmm...would have to see the credits for the stunt persons name, because the DVD doesn't have any features showing the stunts and stuff.... Oh and Todd has one of the orange ju,psuits from that movie, they gave the jumpsuits away at Perris after they were done filming.
CloudOnMyTongue 0 #5 May 7, 2004 Okay so does anyone know what that helmet was?
happythoughts 0 #6 May 7, 2004 The guy who chowed into the pond was a Florida local with the nickname of Rambo. Perhaps someone else can remember his real name. His g/f Raina (sp?) was sitting next to Bill Booth holding a baby in an early scene. There was a small retention pond next to the set. They got the large gator out of it, but a 3-footer kept eluding them, so the scene got shot with the little one in there. He had done that type of stunt previously. Seems like they shot it 3 times. Nice approach and accuracy. Over some cat-tails with good speed. Hit and skip once. The GKs in the movie were the real GKs with the exception of Casper Van Dien. heinsx3 0 #7 May 7, 2004 I was the double for #8 in the movie. I had a Facotry Diver on for the air to air scenes. Dont know what Casper was wearing on the ground shots. Eric Paul Raspino swooped the Hanger at Pope AFB
CloudOnMyTongue 0 #8 May 7, 2004 thanks for the help, now I'm going to watch it again and see if the helmet is the same.

Think about it. joeFor long as you live and high you fly and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry and all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be. MikeJD 0 #16 May 17, 2004 Since this thread's already been hijacked I guess it can't do any harm to add my vote in support of Point Break. Yep, it's extremely silly, but it captures the FEELING of skydiving better than any other Hollywood movie I've seen. It inspired me (and a hell of a lot of others) to enrol on my AFF course a long time afterI'd given up on my static line training
 happythoughts 0 #17 May 17, 2004 QuoteIts fast and the furious but with surf boards. Think about it. The difference is that F&F is about something that you can buy. If you have the money, you can buy a car and be cool. If you can't surf, and buy a really expensive surfboard, you still can't surf.
