Glipazide 0 #1 May 17, 2004 Anyone been to Russia lately and tried to use a cell phone? It's Sanyo 8100 and I'm wondering if it will work in Moscow. This phone should be 'Europe ready' whatever that means but I don't know about RUSSIA. TIA, Clint S.http://sexygirlabs.com/url]

bertusgeert 1 #3 May 17, 2004 I think that is a tri-band phone. Check the specs, to see what frequencies it will work with. 850, 900, 1800, or 1900. It depends on what frequencies the carriers over there use, check the net, search around and see. If I wasnt so lazy I would do it. T-Mobile has some good international rates, their customer service will also be able to tell you about the frequencies and so forth. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei! outrager 6 #4 May 17, 2004 Yo ! Russia uses GSM 900/1800. There are also some CDMA networks that may have international roaming agreements. If you are in the country more than a few days, it will probably make sense to buy a local prepaid SIM card. A web site of your cellular carrier and/or Google will give you more specific answers on roaming prices, preferred networks, GPRS etc. bsbd! Yuri.
