What's Your Favorite Cigar?

Recommended Posts

Just curious how many people around here smoke 'em and what they like

Including Cubans, I like Fuente Hemingways the best!

Back in the days when I used to smoke, I really enjoyed Dunhills.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I don't smoke them, but I did get a Habana, Cuba Cohiba for a friend who loved it long time.

edited for the Cuban spelling of Havana.

Men are so easy to shop for. You find out what they like and BOOM...that's IT unless they get health-conscience. ~~April

Cohibas but only from Cuba
Arturo Fuentes makes these little "chick" cigars, bigger than a cigarillo but smaller then a corona.
Gloria Cubano
Monte Cristo
Macanudo Portofino but the vintage ones, not the regular.
I have a box of Puros Indios in my humidor along with a lot of cigars and no one to smoke em with. It's such a shame.

I should go add some distilled water. Thanks for reminding me.

-Cohiba Extra Vigaroso

A friend;) had some Cuban Cohiba's, but I liked the EV better. Another reason to live in FL: EV's in FL = $10.95; EV's in San Diego = $20.00. Yikes.

Also like Acid Nasty's or Blondies on occasion.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Not every Cuban is as good as it's Dominican counterpart. There are just as many poor cigars from Cuban as there are good ones. Granted, the best quality tabacco still comes form Cuba, but every year the quality gets better outside Cuba and you can get cigars of the same caliber. I was never really impressed with the 'average' Cuban Cohiba either. The EV is a very nice cigar.

Alot of people think that it if comes from Cuba it simply has to be good, usually based on the fact that you have to pay so much more. There is little anyone can do to make a cigar worth more than $8 or $10. The reason for cost above that is simply availability, either by size of the crop or the fact that they came from Cuba. It is much like wine. The same process is used to make a $6 bottle that is used to make a $100 bottle. It is the rarity of the batch that makes it expensive. Same is true with cigars.

Sorry- guess I felt like babbling this morning! ;)
My point is, I will put a Dominican Montecristo up against most modern day Cubans any day of the week.

Cohiba sigolo II, with a glass of Frangelico on the rox, or Johnny Gold Label neat. (If you can throw in a white sands beach there ain't much better):)
