NoShitThereIWas 0 #26 May 19, 2004 Coolest airports I've flown into are Catalina Island which sits atop a mountain and the runway divides huge dropping cliffs on either side. You screw up that landing and you go SPLAT into the side of the mountain. Landing in the Florida Everglades was pretty cool. San Francisco has a pretty metropolitan, fairly futuristic airport, but I'll always have fond memories of Honolulu International where my old home is.Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." aprilcat 0 #28 May 20, 2004 I'm not sure if you guys are talking about small airports where you can fly in and have a jump at the same spot (like Raeford)..or what's the most unique thing about a regular airport, but I love flying into Denver International, taking the 'circus train' to the main terminal, getting my bags, driving away and seeing that 'circus tent receeding'. Its even fun when I'm on my way home..as the car gets near the BIG TOP I do the 'di-di-diddle-little-lit-dit-dee-di' song and can't stop laughing. SkyDivaChristie 0 #30 May 20, 2004 This airport is by no means "spectacular", but it is spectacularly small! I was in Northern Mozambique last weekend and we had to fly into Pemba Airport to clear customs. I was very harshly reminded that I was in the middle of Africa! We had to wait 2 hours for them to bring fuel in for the plane! The fuel at the airport was finished.
