GARYC24 3 #51 May 20, 2004 Haven't had one since Nov. 2003, 2 days before Thanksgiving. I was so sick in bed for 5 days, when I got up I was 5 days smoke free already. While I was sick, I knew I was gonna quit then.

Nightingale 0 #55 May 20, 2004 YAY SPARKY! YAY EVERYONE WHO'S QUIT! I've watched my dad and my brother quit smoking. It certainly isn't easy, and I admire everyone who's been able to do it!
lawrocket 3 #56 May 20, 2004 May 5, 2004. It might sound odd, but I haven't had a problem with quitting. Maybe I did so little it wasn't too much of an issue for me. But, I am well on the way to being nicotine free. How many of you out there are like me and put off quitting because you heard how hard it is? My wife is hotter than your wife. Amazon 7 #57 May 20, 2004 May of 1978. After a few years of smoking while I was in the USAF.. ( Light em if you got em)... I never used any gum or other stop smoking aids.. uh well unless if you count running out.. during a week stay on a realllly big mountain in a snow cave while the winds outside were cooking at about 100 MPH. Going out for more cigarettes was a life threatening kinda thing.. I have not touched one since.

mujie96 0 #59 May 20, 2004 I quit smoking cigarettes. A week ago. The four people whose bodies are in my backyard will testify to the addictive properties of nicotine.....and the irritability that withdrawal causes. Actually, I only miss it when I'm bored. I've always found it disgusting but when all hell broke loose in my life last year and someone left behind 4 packs while he left for better places I figured I might as well smoke em for him. On the subject of smoking other things....if I did they're kind of out of the question for a bit as I want to do egg donation. I don't see myself reproducing ever and I figure my genes should be passed on. My brethren must continue giving broke skydivers someone to borrow money from for generations to come. As for how good it feels to be free....I'm not sure about that. I never derived much pleasure from smoking. If I did I wouldn't have quit. But for those seeking encouragement....you're way more likely to get someone to put their tongue in your mouth if it doesn't taste like an ash tray! How was that for a pep talk? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
