Vallerina 2 #1 May 21, 2004 I'm all excited about my trip to one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and I see this (scroll all the way down to see what I'm talking about.) What are the chances that that will all blow over by this Saturday? I can't imagine stuck inside all day could be much fun when you had all sorts of cool outdside activities planned. AggieDave 6 #2 May 21, 2004 You know those magic 8-balls that you shake and look on the bottom, they'll answer your question... Go buy one. Wanna know why? You shake it and ask it if its going to rain or not. In my experience its usually MUCH more accurate then any forcast.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." nanook 1 #3 May 21, 2004 I've been in this general area twice during this time of year and if i remember their weather, It would drizzle for a second stop, the sun would show, drizzle again. I have never seen a dark overcast Hope I have given you hope_____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

Vallerina 2 #5 May 21, 2004 QuoteIn my experience its usually MUCH more accurate then any forcast. I would almost go with that except that every forecast I can find is exactly the same. The radar shows nothing but big ugly stuff coming that way. There's little doubt that it will be raining most of the time. QuoteHope I have given you hope Thanks, but it looks like it's just complete crap down there. On one forum they were talking about how this has been the rainiest May they've ever had. At first, I thought it might have been the same thing (they were just forecasting all the little tiny showers that go on in the day.) It looks like it's really just going to be absolute crap. So, what would all of you do if it was going to rain your entire vacation? Spending 7 days in rain doesn't seem to be the "paradise" I was looking forward to.There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I'd go and remember what it is that I'm vacationing from - phones, bosses, clients, craziness, attitude, and work. And I'd go galumphing through the rain, and see everything from a watercolor perspective...and grin because I wasn't working! I'm not really going on vacation to get away from it all, though. I was going on vacation for a romantic trip and so that I could do really cool things. Neither one seems to be working out. mfrese 0 #8 May 21, 2004 Well, it's the Caribbean...it may look like crap, but it hardly ever rains for days on end down there unless a full-blown tropical storm is moving through, so you'll probably get some sun and some showers. Here's the other good things (I can't think of any bad ones...I LOVE rain in the tropics!): 1) You'll have pretty green foliage to look at rather than brown scrubby stuff. 2) Snorkeling or diving in the rain can be pretty cool; the lighting is so different, the fish behave differently, it's a great experience. 3) Cruz Bay has a ton of great little bars that are perfect places to watch the rain. Coral Bay also has a couple great places right on the water. 4) Hell, what's more romantic than a rainy day in the tropics? You may never leave the room. Anyway, we'll think positive and slightly jealous thoughts for you...have a great time!Doctor I ain't gonna die, Just write me an alibi! ---- Lemmy/Slash

I've never been so excited about a trip but had everything crushed a day before I'm supposed to leave. This f***ing sucks. I don't even want to go now. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
