I saw the title, and I thought you were engaging in self-promotion there, professor. In answer to yoru question, Hollywood has gotten away from story telling and gone to special effects. Homer had a great story to write down, and the story was great through millenia, but Hollywood has something that no story teler ever had - special effects! Why would you want to tell a story in such a good way that the viewer imagines much of this for himself when you can computer generate a thousand ships and show Brad Pitt's butt! Even moreso, Homer never had English accented villains. All Hollywood movies must have English accented villains or heroes, nowadays, even when it is set in Greece (I haven't seen the movie - my guess is that there are English accented Greeks all over the flick) My wife is hotter than your wife. FallingILweenie 0 #3 May 21, 2004 Overdoing special effects will cheapen any story, but explosions are popular with the moviegoing public. I dont think it's that a director or screenwriter thinks they are improving the story as much as making it sell more tickets. I think that if you think a movie cheapens a great story or piece of literature, simply don't go see it. blue ones Tomas

Didn't happen in this case.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
