mouth 0 #1 May 21, 2004 TODAY is the last day for kids. (I'm a teacher in a middle school.) We are preparing for the worst. Food fights, trashy dress, attitudes, fist fights, knives and who knows what else. I had 2 suspended out of one class yesterday for threatening to kill the teachers who flunked them (I say they flunked themselves) so today has to be better....I hope. Wish me luck. Oh, and thank God for SUMMER -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.

wmw999 2,589 #3 May 21, 2004 Just bring a Thermos with margaritas in it, and it won't matter... That said, have a great summer, and good luck today! jimmytavino 16 #6 May 21, 2004 Yahoo for the last day of school... Middle School aged Kids can be the worst... the little ones are generally not yet bold enough to act up... the H S trouble makers have been "weeded out" while they were IN middle School .. The 6th 7th and 8th graders are right at that stage where they are "testing the waters"... Mix that with a little peer pressure, a little hormones, a bit of smarting off.... and a teacher can have his/her hands full !!! in a hurry.... Plus some 7th and 8th graders can be half a foot taller, and 100 pounds heavier than some teachers,,, especially Woman teachers..... I am thrilled that the year is ending for you mouth..... and i hope that the trouble you may get from a small few,,,,,, will be offset by the gratitude and the thanks, and the "love" of the many more... People...If you think that "Sure,,, Teaching is a great GIG,,, compared to REAL work"...... then you would be SORELY Mistaken.... think it's easy??? Then Try It !!! for ONE week..........and you will change your attitude........

happythoughts 0 #9 May 21, 2004 Don't worry about it. You're little, but you're tough. I can remember when in 11th grade English class, 4 cops walked in and took a kid out in handcuffs (for an off-campus event). There was more than one kid worrying when they walked in. Raefordite 0 #10 May 22, 2004 Dang girl! You just left Raeford where we manufacture some great body armour! I'm sure someone around this town could have hooked you up before returning to the classroom.

mouth 0 #12 May 22, 2004 WELL, I made it. Nobody was hurt and the kid that promised he was going to get me for "failing" him didn't show up today. GEEZ...guess he didn't get to take his finals. The body armor would have been a good idea if i had thought about it earlier. I'll try and remember it for next year. Thanks for the good vibes and sweet thoughts gang. You guys rock. A bottle of wine to celebrate and now I'm packing like a wild woman. It's going to be hysterical when I open boxes to see what I packed with what in the boxes marked KITCHEN. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
