TribalTalon 0 #1 May 21, 2004 The Dark Tower, by Stephen King. Starts off with the Gunslinger and ends with the Dark Tower which isnt even out yet. i think? Its a series of 7 books, and i'm currently on the fifth, the wolves of Calla. God i love this series. i started reading them back when i was an early teen, and i finally found this book and the 4th one, the Wizard and the Glass a couple days ago. I've never met any book(s) that have kept me as captivated and submersed as these have. Yesterday i spent roughly 7 hours straight reading The Wizard and the Glass and never once felt tired or the need for a break. DAMN do i love a good book. skydiver30960 0 #4 May 21, 2004 I'm already on the "advance purchase" list at the local bookstore. Next installment is due out in June! My only complaint is that Oy is a bit of a sell out to the 'cute and fuzzy' lovers, like the Ewoks were in Return of the Jedi. Otherwise, rock on! yeah baby! edit to add: my name: Elvisio "forgetful ass" rodriguez

TribalTalon 0 #6 May 21, 2004 no shit, right?!? he finished the first 3 in like 1996 or something, but i did read at the end of the Wizard and the glass that he had finished Wolves of the Calla, and that the next two were done (but roughly) and that was in 2002. He said that the 6th would be released in early 2004 and the next at the end of 2004. Somebody needs to make a movie out of this series.. it could possibly be as bad ass/more bad ass then LOTR if the right director or maybe even stephen king himself directed it. King's work simply does not have the depth of character, plot and construction that Tolkien's has, and so would be easier to translate. King also has an advatage in that he knows he has a possible movie for every title. I like King, but i really have to defer to Tolkien as the better story teller. King would not be as good without Tolkien's shoulders to stand on.____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Needed something to read on the plane. I read the entire 5 hour flight! I then went back and read the rest.... Awesome series. Although the one with the pink orb kinda bored me a bit. Every time a new one is released I go and read all the old ones again to get me up to speed or just read them over when I can't find anything else to read. I've read the Gunslinger now about 10 times "The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed" still gives me chills... Anyway I just finished Wolves of Calla and was going to order Songs of Susannah. I'm thrilled that he finally finished the story. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.) I always cheated and went to both pages to see what'd happen. hahaha.
