Padre Island is across the bridge, and there's a burger & pizza place with the absolute best cheese sticks in the known universe. Texas State Aquarium and a carrier about round it out. Definitely go to SPI (south padre island) if you have the time, its a neat place with lots of trinkets and souvies if thats what you seek. also, the beach is quite nice, for a texas beach, anyway. If scores of tourist attractions dont raise your interest, you may try Rockport/Port Aransas, go across the ferry and there's a beach out there thats not too bad/infested. TheAnvil 0 #11 May 25, 2004 Dude - this town is so boring the hotel I'm at - COMFORT INN, INGLESIDE - no shit has FREE COCKTAIL HOURS from 7-9 PM. They didn't even cut me off. Unfortunately, they had no Patron and only bud light. However, TheAnvil did manage to down quite a bit of alcohol during the time period. They do have Cuervo, but I like Patron better. The good thing is, the gym here is good. So I can workout, drink, then be bored. Three days and counting... Its probably warm enough to go to the beach.. you can drive up to the surf and tailgate if you can get over the mounds of seaweed. Watch out for tar too.. its a bitch to get off your feet.
