Hans is coming to Chicago (beware!)

Recommended Posts

Hey Dudes and Dudettes!

I am probably going to be in Chicago for some time as of next weeks. Any advice on where I am to jump? Any good watering holes? Advice needed B|

BTW the term Windy City - does that mean you guys have permanent indigestion?

DUDE!

listen to them and check out SDC.. definately very very awesome! I've heard more than one person call it the disneyworld of skydiving, and they aren't joking! its in ottawa.. from downtown take I55 to I80 west..

for the good bars/party scene, go to wrigleyville (basically the interscetion of clark and belmont, next to wrigley field, north of the loop) definately a good time, and if you're a sushi fan at all thats the place to get good stuff cheap! (try "Sanko", its on clark i'm pretty sure.. really good stuff for low price.) theres a cool bar right across the street from it too.

have fun dude.. chicagos a great place.. wish I was still there...

and fyi, it was named the windy city for the politicians, not for the weather... ;)

-Seth :)

That is still a state secret (read: How the hell am I supposed to know where I will be - employer is downtown, that's all I know)

I am looking forward though - I checked out the paint job on the SDC planes - cool, and I bet that's all that keep them in one piece;)

the disneyworld of skydiving

That would be the WFFC in Rantoul.

SDC is more like the Six Flags of skydiving. Cool rides, but kinda pricey for the extras.

Hellofa nice place though!

Areas fun to wander on the summertime weekend evenings include

(as mentioned above) the area south of cub's ballpark wrigleyville, all the way south past belmont. lots of asian noodle shops, thai food, japanese (shiroi hana/ nohana are very reasonable). The Blue Men have a show in that area. CUbbyBear lounge across from the ballpark has lots of bands. Metro has been around since the punk/new wave days.

Fullerton/Lincoln/Halsted and areas one mile north and south of there have a great collection of bars, music (Blues bars like kingston mines and blues etc), food, etc

Evanston area is mellow with coffee shops, nice restaurants, etc. Nice beaches too.

Our favorite place to visit at sunset or sunrise (!) is the Bahai Temple along the lake in Wilmette. Good bike riding area too. Be sure to visit it!

have fun, bro!;)

if I have a car??? I was born and raised in a car. I travel light, which means I take no more than 600 lbs of stuff with me - kind of rules airlines out.

Not for much longer you don't..:P

That is why I am looking to exchange the Disco II for a Defender 110 with a 9 person capacity a roof rack and towing hitch. And since I will be permanently poor with a huge flock of kids I WANT MY GOD DAMN TURBO DIESEL!!!!!B|B|

Working on it - first idea:

I will start a circus. We need to travel around from DZ to DZ so that fits in well. While we are not doing shows the kids can pack, I can cook and Kristen can do rigging. Man, I will be raking cash in like it went out f styleB|

Yeah...just the singing part worries me. I can kill small townships with my voice and K. is no member of the Jackson Five herself (oh! Shit, am I in trouble now....)

Hans runs to hide under the porch with a metal trash can covering his headB|

Parking in dt Chicago can be pricey. nothing to pay 30 bucks a day, so sounds like you better shop for parking space first!
