Steve12 0 #1 May 6, 2010 A friend of mine gave me this dismantled Cypres 1 AAD and this is what has been found on the pressure sensor (see SCX inscription) Later on I discovered a specification sheet on the SCX pressure sensor with that warning at the left of the page at the bottom (see the spec sheet warning). What can we understand from those items ?

RiggerLee 63 #5 May 6, 2010 Just for fun why don't you do a search for a presure transduicer that is certified for emergency systems. Look for one that is specaly rated for emergancy parachute systems. We'll sit here and wait. Check the price for us while you're at it. It is funny as shit thoue. I wonder if some day a lawer will get a hold of that and hang them up by there balls. Oh, wait, that's right their in germany. good for them. Fetishom 0 #9 May 6, 2010 In fact, the sensor takes a continuous reading and IF it's in good condition and the factory haven't fucked up, the reading should be accurate enough for the function. Also, the built-in microprocessor takes several reading by second so very little could go wrong (but the programming itself). This warning is mostly for equipment directly connected to human (medical) or monitoring life. As such, the present use doesn't really fall into that category. There are no device 100% foolproof. They could have selected military parts but the cost would have been prohibitive. Like it is, they're probably making a lot of money. By the way, what is the difference between a Protrack (or any audible device) and a Cypress or a Vigil ? The cutter ! Because the function is basicly the same. I could hack a Protrack with a cutter and some more electronics, a big battery, and it would be a similar AOD.Serge Dufour
