I have some. I had a few electric that went about 50mph. Now I have a gas powered Losi that will hit over 70. 2 speed tranny...thing rips.

Fun, but they can be a pain in the arse just like real cars once modified.

Wow cool. I just got in from flying my Mini speed wing over water. My heart beat is still high Only it's 3rd flight. But since it's the second plane like it that i built, i knew i could handle it.A few close calls. Yep if it gets wet, it's a $120 piece of wet toast. But i have nowhere to fly but over the lake unless i get in the car and drive. Need a rush when you aren't jumping ? Fly over water with a 24 inch plane in 12 mph winds. Hand launched of course. Landing between tree branches and sinking it in a 10ft x15ft area. Go to speedwing.net
yes it goes 40 mph with 8 cell battery. Insanely fun.

Just had my TMAXX upgraded to the 2.5 engine this week. Still need to break it in before really giving it the gas. The muffler has been punched too - giving it an interesting sound. Word has it that this thing will pull wheelies after the upgrade.

They are fun but you gotta be into it. At speeds of 40 to 70 mph you really gotta take the time to learn driving, upkeep, and repair. It's a hobbie and should be approached this way. Just because these models are ready-to-run out of the box now-a-days.... well you get the idea.

Highly advised...have lots of fun!!!

Why would you get rid of your planes? I just bought a 1/3 scale Pitts. With a big ol gas engine...

Flew it today for its maiden.

Wimpy!

I have a R/C plane that does over 200mph going straight up. Rocket powered.

I have an HPI RS4 touring car with a .15 SS engine.
I also have a Traxxas T-Maxx with a brand new Fantom FR18 engine. The T-Maxx has nearly 2 hp! I have just finished breaking in the .18 in the maxx and can't give it full throttle from a dead stop because it would wheelie and flip overB|.

Holy shit Dude ! Rock(et) ON! Looks like a lot of fun ......with a pucker factor of about 9.7
I bet the "officials" know where you live. Special licenses needed for that i would think just to get the big motors(rocket motors).
Now that stuff is awesome. Makes my shit look like it came out of a Cracker Jacks' box. Be careful (like everyone always says)

Well, it takes the Air Force about $100million to develop a missile capable of taking down an aircraft, but the DOJ under Ashcroft now thinks some guy in his garage is going to make missiles using hobby rocket motors and model airplane parts, so yes, getting the bigger motors is now much more difficult.
