Yeah give it a few days. I'm living on a Naval Air Base now. At first I thought having planes flying overhead would be cool, but after a few short days it started to get annoying. Waking up to jets every morning isn't so cool.

Pretty soon you won't even notice it. I lived on Navy Bases (in order--Miramar, Pensacola, Oceana) for years and at first the jets turning at 5am were bothersome. After awhile though I didn't even notice it... I remember my mom visiting and asking how I could sleep with the constant Jet noise. I asked her, "What jet noise..?":)

Air Force brat here. Grew up to that sound. Believe me, it gets old after awhile.

I can't say that I ever saw a Cessna take off from an Air Force base.

On my 10 day visit to DeLand, the King Air or the Porter was my wake up call. I agree it is a nice thing, but as Adam said, I'm sure it gets to ya after a while.
