skybytch 273 #1 May 27, 2004 I just dropped my rig on the pack mat after my third jump so far today (one dead center, one just inside the peas, one just outside the peas). The packer commented that there aren't many (non-instructing/video) jobs where you can be at work and still make every load. Heh. Yes, some days it is very, very good to be me. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #3 May 27, 2004 That's sooo cool! Btw, I think that you offered to jump with me a loooong time ago, but I never met you back then. Therefore, I will be claiming that (RW) jump while you are out here. I don't mind being on slightly larger RW loads either...if you plan on doing some of those (I was invited to my first bigway camp in early July). Also, when exactly are you arriving in town tomorrow, Lisa? I'm picking up Amazon at around 9am from the Ontario airport, in case you or anyone else needs a ride. If not, I will see you tomorrow! I arrive at Ontario around noon; gettin' a rental car (gotta have my own wheels). I should be to the dz by 3 or so; I have to go out to Hemet and say hi to the parents first. Gotta go, I'm on a ten minute call.
 lifewithoutanet 0 #5 May 27, 2004 Rub it in, why don't you? Closest I've gotten is a couple times when I've been out at a meeting and have determined that the traffic between my customer and home amounts to the same drive-time (or more) between the customer and the DZ. I've taken to keeping my gear in my car 'just in case'. One of my VPs took note of that yesterday and asked if I'd be heading out to jump after our last meeting of the day. Sadly, I wasn't able to...that time. I'll try and live vicariously through you for now. -C.
