PhreeZone 20 #1 May 2, 2010 I'm calling AAD in the morning but if someone can clarify this would help me with a question that would be great since the rig is awaiting a repack. The manual says 4+- years or 700 jumps for a Vigil1. It does not give a window on the plus side for time, is the battery good for 1 month, 6 months or years past until the 700 jumps are reached? I've got a rig that has seen less then 200 jumps but has a 4 year old Vigil so I'm trying to figure out what the 4 years plus means for this rig. At least Airtec spells it out at +-6 months for their maintenance, this has no range associated with it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
likestojump 3 #2 May 2, 2010 you're in luck. AAD has revised their life on Vigil 1 packs to 10 years/1500 jumps OR when “Bat Low” or “Bat Rpl” comes on. re : http://www.vigil.aero/power-pack
IanHarrop 43 #3 May 2, 2010 According the FAQ: QuoteLike every electronic unit with battery, the lifetime of the battery depends on the usage and the storage time (capacity loss is less than 1% per year) although you will do at least 700 jumps or 4 years with a battery in normal work conditions for the Vigil I and 2000 jumps or 5 years for the Vigil II. The battery performance will of course be impacted in function of how you use the unit's features, switch ON for one jump a day or store it for years. For example, we have Vigils® still running with more than 1.500 jumps with the same battery. The battery must in any case be replaced after 10 years. http://www.vigil.aero/faq"Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
PhreeZone 20 #4 May 2, 2010 Wow... talk about confusing. The manual to which we are required to have to repack a rig says one thing, their website just adds another 6 years or 150% more to the life and they never update the manual with that info. Good news so I can actually repack this rig today then! Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
