anyone know anything about VPNs? I've just set up a server for work wirth the intention of the clients being able to VPN to it - I've configured port 1723 on my firewall and can ping the server well enough through the VPN, I just can't see any of the files...

The server is running MS Server 2003, and the clients a mix of 2000 pro and XP pro...

any advice?

it works from my machine at home with the firewall inplace - just not from any of the client machines from the office... (There were set up before I was empoyed)... Is there some ticked option I've missed for viewing files over a VPN? :S

First off, did you share the files? Also what permissions did you set up for the $hares? The permissions wont change if you can see them, but you should only allow change permissions to people that are allowed to modify the files.

each user has full permission for their own folder and read-only access to every other folder. All relevent folders are shared and published... I'm well stumped - been on this all day and have no idea what's going on... :S:(
