Bright Shining Moments

Recommended Posts

Ok, the last couple of weeks have been particularly trying, however, I have been privileged to have these rare moments where everything seems right in the world and I feel truly happy.

Well, a "certain individual" gave me a bright shining moment last night when I was feeling pretty low, by making me giggle so hard I had tears in my eyes. He informed me of his bright shining moment of the day, where he received a gift certificate for a job well done!!B| (MEGA APPLAUSE TO YOU!:D) It seems like everyday I have a bright shining moment.

Anyway, I was curious, do other people out there in DZ.comland have these bright shining moments where even when the weight of the world is upon your shoulders you feel like everything is ok? :)
Feel free to share...B|...

RoadRash,

The bright, shining moments are the glue keeping the particle board of life together. The rest is all chips of wood - important, but not glue.

There are times when I'll be driving down the road with the windows open, some 3rd Eye Blind cranking, and the sun and clouds mixing in just such a way...

I'll actually get goose bumps at the thought of just how lucky I am to be at that particular place at that particular moment. And, all I'm excited about is wind in my hair, sun in my eyes, and music in my ears. It doesn't take much to have a shining moment.

Ocassionally, however, there will be elaborate shining moments. I remember feeling overwhelmed once while sitting in a mountain basin below the summit of Mt. Whitney. The sun was setting above the summit ridge. The moon was in the sky to the east. The colors mixed in such surreal ways that the reflection off of the rock and snow was too much to ignore. I shook with joy and cried little tears. It made all the effort of climbing that mountain in the winter worthwhile. The blistered feet didn't matter. The credit card bills from the trip didn't matter. The looting, high-altitude crows didn't matter. What mattered was sharing a unique experience with a true friend.

Take a moment to explore things that are different. You might just find a shining moment there...

Yeah. But briefly - they are there if you want to let them in - still briefly then back to reality.
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

Speeding down the road with my windows down and my music cranked up is one of the best parts of my day...

I was driving back into town a few nights ago and there was this kick ass lightening show going on in the sky and I had just the right song playing in my truck.... :)

Here's my philosophy. Life SUCKS! It's generally one LOOOOONG kick in the junk after another...so....my job is to interrupt that with as many of the "Bright shining moments" as I can. Those moments are what make life worth living. I had about 1000 of those at SGC last weekend. ;)

Yes, I get them. Its like when I experience a bright shinny moment.. nobody is the wiser to the fact that a couple minutes ago I was feeling down. I think if I didn't have my friends, and my children... then I wouldn't have the great moments that I do. ;)
