PTSD - Researching, Assistance Requested

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm doing some research on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.

I'm trying to see if there is a higher incidence of those diagnosed with PTSD in the skydiving community versus the general population.

Assistance and comments are most welcome. PM if desired, replies will be kept in absolute confidence.

Regards,

mh

I have had very mild PTSD in the past but that was related to being in the military, not skydiving. If you want to ask anything specific then feel free to PM - I'm not shy!:P

You will not gonna get a decent result by trying to get people responding to this thread.
If you want reasonably accurate results you need to find a different method.
You need to sample the same amount of non-jumpers as jumpers to get unbiased data and in this forum you cant control the numbers that respond.

Additionally, in this thread you are likey to get a higher percentage
of positive results because people that have not suffered from it wont reply so your data for your skydiver group will be skewed all by itself.

For myself, I'd be curious to hear your results if you should find a fair sampling method.
