happythoughts 0 #1 June 9, 2004 True story. I work at a big telecomm company. I am coordinating work between this company, two contracting firms, and some internal users. I get signoffs for work passed to and from each partners. I produce the documents and then email the appropriate parties. Apparently, the word "document" in either an attachment name, or a title, is causing the firewall to reject the email. I am unsure which. It is flagging it because "document" contains "cum" in the middle. That is what our security guy is telling us. "I understand the situation, but this is work-porn, not private porn." Clownburner 0 #2 June 9, 2004 That is a _little_ bit too restrictive, I think. Is porn such a huge problem at your company that they have to use measures that draconian? My company just appointed a 'Chief Pornography Officer' who has the responsibility of making sure only good, high-quality porn gets emailed around. 7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
happythoughts 0 #3 June 9, 2004 Just had our Wednesday project meeting. Seems that the contracting company is the one that has the problem. They can't send emails with attachments of .html, .htm, and about 5 others. They have a couple of viruses, so they are trying to clean up their system. They've just about ground to a halt on emails. The funny part is that the emails that keep getting dropped are the ones that they are billing with. They are having to send the statements from home on their personal email accounts. Clownburner 0 #4 June 9, 2004 I've heard a few pundits predict that viruses and spam will render email unusable within 2 years.. Here's an example of how that starts to come true...7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
