Perris boogie - random memories

Recommended Posts

- Discovering that Mustang convertibles don't have enough legroom up front for two sets of legs.

- dgskydive's expression when I flashed him at the tunnel.

- flying in the tunnel with my friend Purusha.

- being thrown in the pool after one of the sweetest skydives I've ever been a part of.

- funneling a 4 way diamond exit.

- Nightingale's smile in freefall, and again after standing up two landings in a row. :)
- getting 12500 on my 999th when it was supposed to be a hopnpop.

- Tony Domenico telling me to go flash the pilot for extra altitude on my 1000th.

- seeing lots of my friends smiling back at me in freefall.

- pitchers of Pyramid.

What are your random memories from the weekend?

I wasn't able to attend the boogie, but I have one great memory from the weekend. My oldest son's High School Graduation. I only wish that his father was still alive to see just how wonderful he turned out. Yes, I cried and cried, but was so proud.
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

That was my BIGGEST memory!

~Seeing you and Prusha in the tunnel together.

~Seeing Bob get his face painted after he passed out by the fire.

~Watching all the .commers hit the tunnel for the first time and how much some of them learned in just 10 minutes

We got weathered out, with wind and thunderstorms all weekend.

Craichead and I skipped jumping, and instead went hiking.

I had no idea that there were trees in Illinois. We drove a few hours out to Starved Rock State Park, and did some of the easiest hiking I've ever seen. It was rediculous, most of the trails had stairs whenever they encountered a hill.

We were both struck by the beauty of the park. Anytime a Chicago local can't jump, this place is worth a trip. Highlights were definately French Canyon and WildCat canyon, both easy walks from the visitors center.

No pictures, cuz I'm an idiot and forgot the camera in the car.

You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

There were many, but the one that sticks out most is the Army story Deuce told while at dinner Sunday night. I was crying and laughing so hard I could hardly breathe. :D:D:D:D:D

Aubrey --

I gotta tell ya, you are one -cool- guy. If you see me around the drop zone and I'm not running around like a chicken with my head chopped off, let's have a coke in the Bombshelter. I know plenty of freefliers that would LOVE to jump with you, but we really ought to talk first. They are a different breed. ;)

Oh, one more thing . . . that airspeed recorder of yours, I think it was a Neptune, it's -way- off. ;)
