Thinking of adopting a kitten...

Recommended Posts

I have adopted 3, the shelter should have a vet they deal with so ask him. Ours were already fixed and had all there shots when we picked them up. As long as they are over 3 poulds they can do all the nessarary stuff.

Good Luck......shelter animals are the best animals!!!!

What could possibly go wrong?

Sarah,
Do a google search for the Humane Society for the county you live in. You'll find tons of answers there.

Please oh please, don't adopt from a pet store. Save the little ones or older ones at the Humane Society.

Oh my! They are all so cute. I say you go with Oscar since he has litter mates. (Toby) Get a brother and a sister. They will entertain each other.

hey sarah!

the kittie should be up to date on rabies, the distemper, and wormings already. some shelters also do bordatella. whatever isnt done needs to be done! the other vax include FELV (feline leukemia) and FIP (infectious paratonitis). and a heartworm test! do the test once a year starting at 1 year, and do them every year! keep them on heartworm prevention as well. if a cat gets heartworms there is NO treatment..it will kill them!!! oh and a fecal exam to test for intestinal parasites.

depending on the clinic, vaccines run from 10 - 26 dollars each. its pricy, but once a year its worth it!!!
Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
