cocheese 0 #3 June 9, 2004 A hump would cure my day.I'm jealous too. My friend from Fla. just called and said "I'm on my way to the tunnel." The only tunnel around here goes to Canada in Detroit.Tear up the tunnel Babe.
flyangel2 2 #4 June 9, 2004 She's hooked now! I'm setting up a private tunnel camp to happen out at SkyVenture in Orlando in November. I can't wait. You are so lucky that you can just jump in your car and head out to the tunnel. Wait, on second thought it's good that I can't do that. I'd be so broke, cause every waking hour I'd be in the tunnel. Hope you had fun.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Michele 1 #9 June 10, 2004 It went rather well. I got coaching, and learned a ton. I think the most fun part was playing with him, and as he crept "up", I stayed with him...inch by inch, motion by motion, I stayed level with him...twas lots of fun. But the part which had me laughing was when he told me to 360, and come back to him...and then he'd move, so I'd have to stop on a dime when I saw him. That was fun... Over all much fun...but I have so very much to learn about body position, and so very much to learn about flying. I figure if I spent $50,000 on the tunnel, I would approach competency..... Seems to me a good thing that I don't want to be a competitor or world class anything, you know? I just don't have that sort of $$ handy! LOL.... But a great decision, and $$ well spent. And I'll do it again when the money is available, and again, and again, until I am not a danger to others in the air.... VanillaSkyGirl 6 #10 June 10, 2004 YAY Michele! Who is this "he"that you had your coaching with? He sounds like fun! I've never had anyone who "crept up", unless you mean "follow the leader" and were mimicking his actions. The 360s and him moving around on you sounds like sooo much fun! You must have been doing well. I've had coaches change drills suddenly in the tunnel if I am easily doing the drills. They like to challenge us by changing levels, turning on the speed & moving aroundduring drills with the hopes of trying to throw us off. Lmao...it's sooo much fun! I'm so glad that you had a good time! I'll bet you are improving a lot! QuoteI've never had anyone who "crept up", unless you mean "follow the leader" and were mimicking his actions. My main problem (ahem...right now...) is stability while handling fall rate control. So we got stable low, hard arch, and then crept "up", slowly, minor small body changes, until we were at eye level with the door, and then went down again, and up again, until we weren't using very small increments, but rather feet at a time, while I was trying to maintain eye contact and stability. Twas waaaaaaay fun, and incredibly challenging...small movements, done at (or as close to "at") the same time as my coach, increasing skills and awareness...waaaaaay fun.... Quote The 360s and him moving around on you sounds like sooo much fun! You must have been doing well. I am doing better than the time you saw me, no doubt there. However, I did get stuck on the wall, and ended up walking on it. LOL, sort of surprised everyone (including myself...), but then I pushed off the wall and came back into flying. LOLOL.... The 360s turned into more like 540s...my job was to stop when I was in front of him again, and he'd dart around once I took my eyes off him to handle the turns. And we worked on hand turns, leg layovers, and stopping on a dime, as well as forward and backward movements stopping again on a dime. Like I said, worth it totally. If I had lots of money, I know where I'd spend it....!!! Ciels- Michele Dunno if I was doing well - but I was definitely learning. ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
 Brains 2 #12 June 10, 2004 Good for you Michele. Sounds like you were having fun and learning all at the same time. I gotta try this tunnel thingy out sometime. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
