Anybody actually eaten stingray?

Ok so I am fishing off a pier this weekend, and twice I caught some big stingray. One of them was about the size of a hula hoop... that big. As we toss em back into the ocean, some bystander women asks why we don't keep em and eat em... i tell her you can't eat stingray, and she says that some people do. She said she saw it on tv that some normal people eat it. I think she was making stuff up.

so has anybody actually eaten stingray, or seen it on a menu somewhere?

oh yeah we also caught a bunch of little sharks... they were kinda cool, until they bent almost in half trying to bite me as i took em off the hook. too bad you can't eat those.

So I hear that many "scallops" are actually punched from stingray wings. Not sure if it's true or not.

I've heard the same thing. Many "scallops" are made from various rays.

What gets sold as scallops in sushi bars is ususally sting ray. Tasty little morsels.
