No Yahoo here:|

No problems on my side.

Heck, I just logged on Yahoo Mail and discovered they increased the mail folder size to 100 MB!!!!!! :)

Ha!

I have 2GB of mail storage now!!!! Yup, I have Yahoo DSL and that puts me to the "Plus" level automatically. My lord, I remember when I had hard drives smaller than that! At first when I saw the email this morning I thought it was a joke or a scam...then I logged in!

On top of that, I find Yahoo to have the best web based spam filters.

Ha yerself. I run all my own servers at home.
I have 359 GB of storage for my e-mail.
I have a Sun E250 for my mail server.
If 359 GB isnt enough I can always add more drives :)
Currently I'm only utilizing about 150 MB so I'm not overly concerned ;)

Well, I don't feel like running my own server, so this is a better option, and once I get home, I download everything off the server, so my true limit is whats on my computer.

Just had an e-mail from the office IT people:

Please note that we are currently experiencing problems with the Internet.

This is not limited to the firm as it is a global problem and is being dealt with. You may therefore find that many sites/search engines are unavailable or extremely slow to open. It is anticipated that it will not be fixed for a few hours.

If you need to use the internet, the homepage for microsoft is unavailable but if you type in the address bar the google search engine, this is currently available.

Thank you

Seems like someone's up to some funny buggers...

Yeah I just got the email from yahoo saying I now have 2 gigs. I was wondering what was gonna happen when they upgraded the free accounts to 100 megs since I've been paying like $20/year for 25 megs. I figured it'd be generous if they gave 250 megs. But 2 gigs? Damn, that'll take me a while to fill.

I hope they increase the number of blocked addresses and mail filters. That's what I need more than lots of space.

Akamai DNS outage
Akamai DNS problem

Starting at around 8:30 am EDT (12:30 UTC), a number of sources started to report a widespread Akamai DNS issue. Large web sites, which use Akamai for its DNS service, did no longer resolve. Effected sites are Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Fedex, Xerox, Apple and likely many others.

At this time (10:30 am EDT), some effected domains removed the Akamai DNS servers and are reachable again using their own DNS servers.

Typically, the domain itself (e.g. 'google.com') still resolves, but popular hostnames, like 'www.google.com' will not resolve. As a result, the web site is no longer reachable.

The effect appears to be world wide. Some of the Akamai servers do respond to pings, but do not respond to DNS queries.
