freeflybella 0 #26 June 16, 2004 QuoteNow, I love and embrace the beauty in my name...especially when Spanish people say it... I can imagine. I just love rolling 'r's. I had so much fun in Mexico and Puerrto RRRRrrrrrrico impressing the locals with my talent! freeflybella 0 #27 June 16, 2004 Quotemaybe that's just the "Days of Our Lives" fan in me. Well! What about "A" Martinez ?? I had a friend who thought of naming his daughter "B" B Perkins. (His wife's name is Vashne Nilon - and yes, she's white and has American parents.) Vashne and Jeff settled on Lucibelle for their daughter . . . . . hrm. edited for poor knowledge of soaps: Was A on Days or Santa Barbara? SpeedRacer 1 #29 June 16, 2004 Ever notice how some Chinese immigrants will change their name to something more Anglo- sounding, so that most Americans can pronounce it? For example, theres this woman who sits next to me at work named Yu Xian so she chose "Cindy" as her "american" name. Xian is pronounced "zsheein" So if I move to China, I get to choose my name, like "Long Wang" or "Won Hung Gai" or something. We had an actress from South Korea come out to West Point while they were in town filming something or other. She wanted to skydive and ended up doing I believe 4 aff levels in one weekend. She called herself Jenny. One of our instructors asked why did she call herself Jenny when she is in the states...she said.."cause it's just easier for Americans..." LOL He joked that when she did her next jump he was going to change his name and tell her he wanted to make it easier for her.

Zenister 0 #34 June 16, 2004 QuoteSo if I move to China, I get to choose my name, like "Long Wang" or "Won Hung Gai" or something. "Hung Wei Lo" is the internet favorite.. My name really is Ransome, but it became annoying enough explaining it repeatedly that i eventually adopted Randy for most enviroments.. my close friends still call me Ransome, or Rans or "hey asshole" depending.. unique names are cool IMO, all single males have been specifically forbidden from marrying any one named Cindy or Judy as there are already 4 of each in the extended family..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. happythoughts 0 #35 June 16, 2004 QuoteSo if I move to China, I get to choose my name, like "Long Wang" or "Won Hung Gai" or something I believe that "Gai" is Chinese for chicken. If you went with "Won Hung Gai" in China, you may lack for dates. "Hey baby...I'm hung like a chicken"
