Whats up with Courtney Cox....

Recommended Posts

COurney COx = coco. My best guess.

Is it Coco Arquette? Or a hyphenated name?

Perhaps she plans for the daughter to marry into a new name. What happens when a hyphenated woman marries - does it become a long Spanish like name, drop one, stay the same...???

Seems simpler to stick with the maiden name (fine by me), or to change it.

How about Gwynneth Paltrow's baby - Apple?

Weird baby names. Yeah, my wife and I went rounds over baby names. Hers weren't that bad. She wasn't recommending Oooga-Booga or Joe-Jellybean-Donnel-Rashad-Moustafa-Muhammed Childs. I'm glad.

Of course, she doesn't like tradtional names, so we settled on our Irish and Gaelic roots. Good names, yet not out-there Rapper's kids names.

I also refused the "geographic" names. No kid of mine will be named Dakota, Austin, Dallas, Madison, Walla Walla, Waukeegan, Kennebunkport or Newport News.

Aww. I think Apple is a great name. Although 'Apple Martin' sounds a bit too much like apple martini...

And speaking of Coco and 'geographical' and 'heritage' names...

I had a family of friends in high school named Vida, Asia, Coco and Ephraim.

They were seriously the most beautiful and artistic kids I knew.

I HATE the name...it reminds me of a monkey, but I don't think that it will be problem for this child in her (?) environment. The type of schools that these actors' children will attend have people with similar thinking.

For example, I used to work as a substitute teacher in a private arts & science based grade ("& high) school where the children, whose parents were all incredibly rich and sometimes famous, and their minds were quite open. It is a fabulous school...the children were very advanced (square roots in second grade). I would love it if I could send my own children (if I have any) there myself. Some of these kids have unusual names, and nobody thinks anything is strange about that.

Personally, I attended a conservative, private, Catholic, academically exceptional college-preparatory school. However, my old school is the type of conservative place where "Coco" would not be a name that fits in. It's all relative.

oh come on now....

Kennebunkport is a nice town! :P:D

I guess people don't really think about what the kids are going to do to them.

My maiden name is McKenna - from 1st to 5th grade I wasn't known by my first name - everyone called me McKenna, which in the early 80s was not cool! I made it hard for folks, I had a name that wouldn't be one to pick on....

Apple... Coco... come on now! Far, far too easy to get picked on.

Is food the latest name craze - how about Carrot? Then carrot top won't feel left out :D:S

I LOVE most of those names...Vida means "life" in Spanish. Wow, it's such a gorgeous name. I would sooo name my daughter that! Asia is sooo beautiful, too! "Coco"...I just don't like.

I would name my son "Blu". I met a baby boy "Blue" once and fell in love with him (and he with me...and my breasts...babies love breasts) and his name.

Anyway, I LOVE that you also love alternative names, Bella! :)

It didn't come easy. :P

'Shani' was difficult to live with for awhile. In those insecure awkward years... No one really made fun of it but no one pronounced or spelled it right.

I later learned to appreciate it when I found out my brother, Chad and I narrowly escaped being called Brandy and Brady!

Lol...yes, well, try having an ethnic name, which sounds ugly when pronounced in English. Not everyone is open to diversity...at least when I was younger...I also hated my name. Now, I love and embrace the beauty in my name...especially when Spanish people say it...lol. I do think that we live in a different age when diversity and differences are celebrated. :)

Actually, I think of George Martin producing the Beatles for Apple records.
