AllyMilne 0 #2 June 17, 2004 Boogie Club Events Pete Marsden’s Boogie Club is again running low cost skydiving events in the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates. The Desert Boogie in Umm Al Quwain is out of the monster 130-place AN12 tailgate aircraft at 14,000 feet (last lift 16,000 feet). Dates are Friday 12 - Saturday 20 March 2004, return flight is from Heathrow and accommodation is at the Bin Majid Beach Resort including breakfast and dinner each day. Load organisers will be available for flat flying and freefly at all levels. Extra days can be arranged if you wish to see Dubai. The Karlovy Vary Boogie, 14-20 August, offers a Turbolet going to 13,000 feet with accommodation from camping to five star hotels. This cheap and cheerful event is an ideal first time boogie. 01932 701321 pete@boogieclub.co.uk

mnealtx 0 #4 June 17, 2004 Ahh, Pete Marsden and the Boogie Club...that brings back the memories!! Especially since ALL my jumps were at Karlovy Vary...love that place! I went to the first one, back in... damn, was it 94? Time DOES fly.... I only had 17 jumps at the time, Pete said I had to do an AFF jump to show I was ok in the air. So, I rent an AFF rig and up we go in the Lett... out the door at 13.5! WHAT a feeling!! Andy (can't remember his last name) and (can't remember the AFF rig owner's name either - ARGHH)(Nels, maybe?) are both in TIGHT boxmans to try and keep up with me in my (heavy-and-hot-as-hell) winter weight mechanics coveralls. Pete apologized a couple times for not getting the video - he smacked the cam out of line going out the door. We all land, and Andy starts calling me "The Teflon Brick" - I guess I fall just a tidge fast...LOL! Good thing I didn't know about the beer rule, back then... I wouldn't have been able to make the last couple jumps for all the firsts: First boogie First turbine jump...all my others were from "Pivo Zlaty", the AN-2 First AFF jump First jump w/cameraman First turbine jump First RW jump attempt (me, Ule and another kid...BSBD, Ule... I miss ya!) First birthday jump Good memories, made a lot of good friends that week that I wish I still had telephone numbers for.... If y'all see Andy (tall, lanky British guy) or Nels (?) tell 'em Mike said hi. Give Joe (DZO) and his wife (Yvette?) a handshake and a hug, respectively, for me. And if Josef Finta is there, PLEASE get his telephone number for me! Damn, I wish I could be there.....Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim.
