mfrese 0 #3 June 21, 2004 Hey, quit complaining...it was only 35 F at 18K on Saturday...I almost had to put on a longsleeve shirt. And Monterey was covered in fog...we could see it VERY clearly from H-town. Looked like there were some nasty thunderheads over the Sierras, too. Sorry Vinnie, couldn't resist...hope the ass-beating helps. Doctor I ain't gonna die, Just write me an alibi! ---- Lemmy/Slash
flyangel2 2 #4 June 21, 2004 I left Colorado on Friday and it was raining. Arrived at Skydive Monroe in Atlanta that afternoon. Made some very nice skydives on Saturday and Sunday. Come home last night to a report from my sons that it rained here all weekend. It's still raining today. Sure am glad that I did a road trip this past weekend to get some skydiving in.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. skymama 37 #5 June 21, 2004 Welcome to Florida, Vinny! I'm sorry to say you're going to have to get used to it. Daily afternoon thunderstorms are a pretty common occurance for a few months. Have you prepared for the hurricanes yet?She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
TheAnvil 0 #6 June 21, 2004 Hehehehehehehe. I shall extract tequila from you at a later date in revenge. Dude - it was hot as HELL at Titusville this past weekend. When it wasn't raining. Had to ride the King Air AND the Caravan down on two separate occasions due to weather. Wish I'd been there to see that fog... crutch 0 #7 June 21, 2004 Geez, you ought to drive one hour south to Palatka, I made six on Sunday. They were jumping their asses off in Deland Saturday, had an otter load take-off at 6:30 in the morning. Quit whining!blue skies, art
TheAnvil 0 #8 June 21, 2004 I refuse to bow to your dictatorial tendencies.... I need to visit Palatka soon. Perhaps in a couple of weekends. TheAnvil 0 #9 June 21, 2004 Afternoon thunderstorms? Every day? Like this? Not cool. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
skymama 37 #10 June 21, 2004 QuoteAfternoon thunderstorms? Every day? Like this? Not cool. It might skip a few days here and there, or it might hit your area but not 20 minutes down the road. But, yeah...pretty much your town or some place near you is going to get an afternoon shower. The good part is that they usually don't last long. The showers might stop the planes running for an hour or so, but rarely do they knock out the whole afternoon. You just have to hope the locals won't start drinking beer early so you'll have enough people to send a plane up when the rains pass! RkyMtnHigh 0 #12 June 21, 2004 That's coastal weather for ya Vin. I hung out in the Birmingham area last week and it was somewhat predictable to have the daily afternoon shower and by 3pm, it was clear blue skies..so I got some decent jumping in Wednesday thru Saturday. _________________________________________
skydived19006 4 #13 June 21, 2004 I feel your pain! Seems like the weather has been against us all spring (see attachment, typical). When it rains here (Kansas), it's generally an all day thing. Then you have the occasional tornado issue, again not very conducive to our gravity test pastime.Experience is what you get when you thought you were going to get something else.
