Riveting television

Trauma: Life in the ER. I was riveted to it last night. My wife doesn't like the blood and other things, but she fell asleep, which made it easier for me to watch.

There's a lot of the "you can't make this up" stuff going on. Like the story of the guy who was shot while chating at a card game. He's ready to be wheeled into the OR, and his girlfriend comes in arguing to see her boyfriend. She is not allowed and opens fire. This delayed his transit to the OR, and may have contributed to his death.

Or, the "nice guy" who was stabbed. The lady doctor asked him who stabbed him, and he said "his girlfriend." She asked why and he said "because I was kicking the motherfucking shit out of her." She inserts a chest tube and decides not to use anesthesia. Lawyer in me says, "Damn! That's chick is toast." Yet, at the same time, I couldn't help but mutter a quiet cheer.

That is some truly riveting television. I wish my wife could handle the blood and stuff.

I was afraid you said ER was riveting tv. I was afraid I was going to have to slap a lawyer.

I'm definately with you in the tv opinions department. Nothings better than good discovery/history/learning channel stuff.

And Law & Order when they have a good reality setting.
(have you noticed the betters ones don't have the "any relation to actual persons or events" at the end are the better ones?)

They've had Family Fear Factor and Twins Fear Factor. It all involves showing the hottest chick, with the best hair, walking in slo-mo in a bathing suit ala Baywatch. I'm checking the tv guide to see when Porn Star Fear Factor comes on.
