yoink 321 #1 June 24, 2004 Do any of you know people like this? two of my collegues have just let me know that they're interested in doing either AFF or Static line... my first thought was "oh god..." don't get me wrong - there both really nice blokes, it's just that the first is really shy and needs to be told things about a dozen times before anything sinks in, and the seccond is the quintissential "My way is the right way, and I don't need advice from you" middle level manager... Edit: deleted the last sentence on re-reading... on reflection it was a little harsh.

skydiver30960 0 #6 June 24, 2004 Don't worry, they won't be the first shy guy or know-it-all ever to make a first jump. If you're REALLY concerned, mebbe just give the instructor a quick "heads up". Instructors know how to handle different personality types, and if they feel that somebody isn't ready to jump they'll work with them until they ARE ready to jump, or (worst case) suggest that they maybe "sit this one out". sunshine 2 #9 June 24, 2004 Geesh, you're judging them before they even made the first jump. When their life is on the line, they may just pay attention and surprise you. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! yoink 321 #10 June 24, 2004 they may, and I'm not telling them not to do it - that's up to their instructor, but these are people I've known well for a while - it's not like just making a snap judgement, but a reasoned guess based on their personalities. I may be wrong - in fact I hope I am.
