I met a Hall of Famer!

Recommended Posts

I met Minnie Minoso last night!!! (More info about him here.) I almost took him out with the bathroom door, so I ended up chatting with him for 20 minutes or so! :D (I even got an autographed picture!)

Yesterday was one of those "Sliding Doors" kind of days. I missed my train by less than a minute (I keep pushing how long I can stay in bed for. I found my limit.) While it annoyed me at the time, I was able to hit some of the more fun bars on the north side by my friend Jenny's place because I drove in and wasn't bound by a silly train schedule.

Last night was one of those, "Oh my goodness!!! It's already midnight?!?!?!" kind of nights! Jenny, Holly and I caused MUCH trouble, and I officially grossed out a huge weight-lifting kind of tough-guy! (Hey...it's not my problem he asked what I do for a living!

So, I hooked up one friend. Almost hooked up another, and I officially scared many people from out of state! A pretty successful evening if you ask me! "Girls night out" is pretty fun!
There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Cool! I met him about 10 years ago - he played in an all star game against our school baseball team! Nice guy, not at all stuck-up.
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Definitely! I haven't met many famous people, but the other sports people I've come across haven't been the "hang out, have a few beers and chit chat with people at a bar" type. He's really laid-back.

A bunch of the old school ball players like that are warm and genuine. I had the opportunity to meet and hang out with Ernie Banks. What a nice guy he was. Just an absolute gem of a human being.

Those guys were great, and played for the love of the game. Most of the guys nowadays aren't like that. Of course, there are exceptions.

My wife is hotter than your wife.
