This guy has some skills

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that's messed up, guy either has skill or more likely he got really really lucky a couple of times. Strange for Oklahoma, huh?

There was a good discussion about this a while back when it was first posted.:P

Wonder what his profession was before he started stealing cars.

Lets see, he's in Oklahoma...

So maybe he was a professional cow tipper...or maybe he was one of the drug runners picking up 'roids from Mexico for ou's football team? I could see either one...>:(

The cops were using the PIT(Precision Immobilization Technique) manuever on him as you saw. It works really good and is easy to do especially at higher speeds, however, the cops failed to follow through with the manuever which allowed the guy to continue. At speeds that high doing nothing (after being pitted) to the vehicles imputs, the momentum alone will right the car, as you saw twice. Towards the end when the vehicle was moving slower and the cop followed through with the PIT technique the cop car was positioned almost perpendicular to the mustang, thus preventing him from moving. Most people spaz out after being Pitted and put either gross steering and/or brake corrections in to the vehicle and usually spin themselves into the median barricade or off the road. The sheer speed that guy had and the lack of objects in his way during the PIT is what allowed him to continue as he did. The third attempt was almost sucessfull but again the cop didn't pin the car and the car was rolling backwards from the manuever, which they will do when spun 180. It isn't until the car goes onto the grass that the guy in the mustang actually put it into reverse and whipped it around. None the less it was pretty amusing to watch. Most cops do the PIT manuever completly wrong as you saw. They either fail to follow through with the technique or they literally ram/sideswipe the side of the target vehicle. When done correctly, the PIT manuever will usually not damage either vehicles sheet metal.
