quade 4 #1 July 1, 2004 Ok, so, I'm shooting a bit 'o camera today at a health and benefits expo and came across what has got to be the silliest thing I think I've ever seen. They tout the product as being helpful, but the only thing I can think of is . . . sprained ankle. http://www.zcoil.com/ Also, wasn't some stupid shoe like this in a Seinfeld episode? It also occured to me that maybe these shoes are the solution to all our skydiving needs. Main fails, cutaway and pull the reserve, reserve fails and these shoes will just sproing you back into the air like Wiley Coyote. I also really like that they come in a lot of different styles . . . the clog style is especially . . . uh . . . mockable. I really like their use of the word "stylish" . . . yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
slug 1 #2 July 1, 2004 Hi Quade I saw copy of a patent in a old edition of skydiver/parachutist that looks somewhat similar to the shoe in your thread, it was designed for paratrooper or peeping tomsIt could have been a April fools thing, the boot materials were leather of course & the botttom had two big metal springs. Misslmperfect 0 #3 July 1, 2004 hehe my favorite is the 'workboots'. i can just see my husband walking into work wearing those things! the guys would have a freakin field day! i like the warning about wearing them near hazardous locations, like hoses and wires. they should throw in sidewalks (those cracks can be dangerous), stairways, gravel roads, jogging trails...... and only $40 to replace the heel! i cant imagine how much the shoe costs to begin with. convenient how THATS not on the site.... but im sure some goofball's truckin' on down the road in these things as we speakOh Canada, merci pour la livraison! quade 4 #7 July 1, 2004 Yeah, it is a slow week, but shooting camera at it for about 6 hours pays better than flying camera for a week of 4-way. Gotta pay the bills somehow.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
airtwardo 7 #8 July 1, 2004 I was in Paris (France not Texas!) a few weeks ago...I saw a bunch of 'froggies' wearing either those or something very similar. One rather large lady (250+) must have had the 'Rough Country Suspension' kit added to hers. The kids started calling them "Earthquake" shoes! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
