Brian425 0 #1 July 5, 2004 Playing volleyball on the 4th. I have to see the Otrhopedist this week. The ER doctor said I might need a little hardware to fix it. Oh well, no jumping for a little while. Hopefully it's just a cast for a few weeks. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
Casie 0 #2 July 5, 2004 OK...I'll be the first to ask, how did you break it playing volleyball?~Porn Kitty WARNING: Goldschlager causes extreme emotional outbursts!
Brian425 0 #3 July 5, 2004 Going up to spike the ball. My 6'4 buddy on the other stuffed it right back. The ball bent my finger back. It was strange to see my finger at about a 70 degree angle. Only the wrong angle. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
Casie 0 #4 July 5, 2004 YIKES! I guess it's a good thing, I'm kinda short and don't have to worry about that when I'm playing volleyball. Major **VIBES&HUGS** comin your way for a speedy recovery!~Porn Kitty WARNING: Goldschlager causes extreme emotional outbursts!

Brian425 0 #6 July 5, 2004 I know. Funny thing is that I get hurt doing "normal" things. I rarely get hurt doing what other people call risky things. I just want to know how long before I can jump. Hopefully no screws. ER doctor said it "may" need some "hardware" to get it to heal right. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. champu 1 #7 July 5, 2004 QuoteHopefully no screws. ER doctor said it "may" need some "hardware" to get it to heal right. that must've been a nasty break... I think I've dislocated and/or broken just about all of my fingers at some point and have never had anything a splint hasn't fixed. ouch...
Brian425 0 #8 July 5, 2004 It is completely broken right down into the joint at the knuckle. I gues because it seems to go diagonally throught the ball (for lack of a better word) in the joint. I was planning to jump at above the Poconos while I was up there. Instead, I worked on the party set-up Saturday. And did not drink before the V-ball game. Then no beers because I took a percocet for the pain. All my "friends" drank all the beer. Oh well. I still had fun. So what is the rule with jumping with a brokwn bone? Is it wait until 100% healed? Wait until you can safely work all controls? Someone should know the answer to this. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. AggieDave 6 #9 July 5, 2004 With a broken finger, you need to make sure you can still work the handles with NO problems, as well as fly the canopy. Also, you need to be weary about rehurting it taking docks, getting in/out of the plane and falling over on landing.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." chuteless 1 #10 July 5, 2004 I'll trade you for a partially healed broken ankle. Bill Cole D-
Brian425 0 #11 July 5, 2004 Partially healed sounds like I could be in the air quicker. Hope you feel better. And you heal 100% B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Jayruss 0 #15 July 6, 2004 Please, I had my doctor break mine for me. He was even nice enough to not charge my ins for it. Having the rod taken out with pliers was fun too. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
piisfish 140 #16 July 6, 2004 oh that little one... I broke my right one when I was around 14, I think it was the last time I played football (yeah, the one with a round ball you kick with your feet, not an oval ball you throw by hand). Was one of my last experiences with these dangerous projectiles...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
