jceman 1 #27 July 6, 2004 Chris, Wish there was something I could add to the sentiments expressed up to this point, but I'm at a loss. Keep your wits together and keep one thing in mind, you've already made 8 more skydives than most of the world's population ever will. You may be forced into retirement, but in your heart you are a skydiver. And you can take that to the bank. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
Brian425 0 #28 July 6, 2004 You will always be a skydiver. You did not quit, you were forced out by circumstances beyond your control. Your health and future are more important than jumping. Stay on the board. You are still one of us. DZ.com would be worse without you. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. Muenkel 0 #30 July 7, 2004 You people are completely awesome!!! Like I said, I don't plan to leave dz.com because I would never laugh again. It's just that sometimes I feel like a poser because I'm unable to do what you and I love best. I don't have to make the decision to skydive again for quite some time. It WILL be my decision. However, I struggle with what my neurologist told me. He's one of the best in New England and he was quite firm about not taking unnecessary risks. I already lost my job due to this injury. Do I risk losing another? Shit, I can't even play one on one basketball right now due to my imbalance problems! I have been bummin lately, but seeing your posts have really lifted me up. I guess that's what we do for eachother. The bottom line is I have to keep positive. It's hard sometimes, but we all face it at one time or another. I guess I have to stick around, because you people are too cool and I cannot risk becoming a whuffo. That would be worse than becoming completely brain damaged. Thanks peeps. _________________________________________ Chris

turtlespeed 226 #32 July 7, 2004 Chris, Don't stress doode. One of the most respected jumpers here, doesn't jump anymore. He might one day - just as you might one day. Feel disapointed if you have to - Feel angry and get mad - But at the end of the day what does it matter that you weren't in the air - you are still alive - you are still breathing - and most importantly, you can still drink beer. I don't see the problem.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
