Decision time: Help a brother out.

Recommended Posts

Ok so here is the long story short.
I quit my high paying, decent benifit having job about a year and a half ago, b/c it was making me and those around my miserable, not to mention high blood pressure, etc.
I went to work for myself at an easy pace, doing remodeling, light construction, etc. WELL then I broke my ankle, was unable to work for near 4 months. WE (wife and I) burned every bit of savings, stocks, etc we had staying afloat. I got a job w/ a large corp that pays ok, and the benifits are awsome, and even the hours are good cuz it allows me Fri, Sat, and Sun to jump. And it help pay for my college (1 year left), BUT its only part-time. So its still not paying the bills.
So I can easily go on the road driving a truck, make good money for a while, but miss out on family, friends, and boogies, but get back on my feet. Or I can keep holding out for one of those jobs Ive always wanted, or one that just barely pays the bills.
Well? what do you other broke skydivers think? Its decision time, and ive been thinking about it soo much lately I cant tell whats up from down.
Anybody else have to do something like this? Did it work?
Thanks for the input.:)

Its a shame you dont live in the St. Louis area. I could have you in a truck monday morning. And I'll split the recruitment bonus with you also:o

Plus we have a mediumm sized DZ with an otter and a 206. 65 miles west of the City.

Well......My job has OFTEN sucked for skydiving. The first year was UTTER hell. Took me from Oct 2002 until May 2004 to go from 300 to 400 jumps. THAT SUCKED!!! This summer has been MUCH better though. I have had weekends off all through June and July. Been doing a fair amount of jumping. What really sucks is that I have had to live in Cleveland Ohio since April 2003. It's pretty much the 7th layer of hell. Well....just when I was about to quit because I so NO light at the end of the tunnel regarding a transfer......last Friday they came out with a transfer policy. Only took damn near 4 years of the agency being in existance. >:( So.....I may hang out another year and hope for a transfer back to Atlanta. Good thing they are paying me so much..........otherwise I would have been gone long ago!!!! If they will transfer me back by the end of the year I will be happy and stay for a LOOOOONG time.......if not........I think one more winter in Cleveland will seal my fate! ;)
