Elvisio "I like both" rodriguez El, we know that no one will skydive with you, but is sex by yourself really that grand? MarkM 0 #53 July 12, 2004 QuoteOK, first things first, I asked which is better, not if any of us would give up one for the other. What was a better high in your life, your first jump or your first time having sex? What will you remember on your death bed? The face of some girl you screwed in the bathroom of a club or the way the ground rushed at you the one time you base jumped? Quote Second, if this were about trade offs, would you not give up one of those activities to keep sexual activites on your plate? Depends. Which activity are you talking about and how good looking is the girl? But as for skydiving... hmmm let's see... I'm in a sport that's 90% male and consumes most of my weekends(the good weather ones anyway). That basically kills my dating life right there. It's not a relationship friendly sport, unless you win the "Who wants to date the manifest babe" lotto or something. So I guess I did give up sex for skydiving. Brains 2 #54 July 12, 2004 QuoteThat basically kills my dating life right there. Ahhh, grasshopper, therein lies your problem. Don't DATE them, just find a skychickie that just wants a fuckbuddy believe me they are out there. Also remember you don't lose your girlfriend, just your turn. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
Jayruss 0 #55 July 13, 2004 I've given up skydiving for longer periods than sex and I'd say I miss skydiving more. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

wildblue 7 #59 July 13, 2004 QuoteThere are a million ways to die in life. But only one way to live...... skydive ! This line I think is where the difference lies with people. Many people will say there's a million ways to live too. There's a ton of people out there experiencing life and living it to its fullest, and they may have never made a jump in their life. I'll never understand the 'camp' that thinks skydiving is the end-all be-all of things to do in life. Call it a "...passion you just don't get" or whatever, I see it as narrow-minded. This is just my feelings and my opinion, I'm not saying yours are wrong - but to believe that skydiving is the pinnacle of things to do to "live" is no better than the person who thinks that it's just a way to die. Try scuba diving, climb everest, hike across country, learn to fly a plane, take a bike through a 100 mph sweeper, help build an airstrip in Guyana (hi Karen!), learn to surf.... there is more to life. It's great you've found that "One Thing" and can stop looking. I think there's more out there, and I intend to find it.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
Vallerina 2 #60 July 13, 2004 Quote it's that skydiving liberates their spirit in a certain way and they couldn't imagine their lives without that freedom anymore. That's the point that I'm trying to make. I love skydiving. It's one of my favorite hobbies. I jumped my butt off last month, and I did a ton of tunnel time a little over a week ago. I love it. I can imagine my life without it. I can imagine my life without anything that's in it right now. Nothing is permanent. It would upset me to not have some things in my life (being able to walk, seeing, my family, my friends), but these are things that I could still live without. QuoteIf you don't undertand that, then I feel sorry for you. Really? I feel sorry for people who can't imagine their lives without any one thing because when the day comes where they don't have that very one thing in their life anymore....I worry for them. Addictions of any kind are bad. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
cocheese 0 #61 July 13, 2004 Well being out of the game for a while is teaching me a few things. I realize there is more to life than flying though the sky. And i enjoy a million other ways to live... we all do. Just don't mess with my jumping please. :)And yes i need sex as much as a skydive right now.
