Sources for rock climibing hardware?

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow dz.comers,

Can anyone recommend a source for rock climbing hardware?

Specifically, I am looking for 3/4 inch or 1 inch wide buckles that are routinely used to make fall-arrest harnesses for rock-climbers.
They are square, made of aluminum and look like they could hold a 1,000 pound shock-load.
Steel would also work well.

The end-users will be ground-launchers, so shock loads will be negligible.

Try para-gear's website/catalog as I am sure they have what you described on hand. There are multiple pages for hardware on the tool bar on the left of the page so if you don't see what you want at first, click on the other pages in the Hardware section.
CLICK ME to go to the first page.

What I think you are looking for is known as a quick fit adapter and can be found on page #2

Be careful what you say. Some one might take it the right way.

Sorry!
When I visited MEC (in Vancouver) last week, they only had sport climbing harnesses and no separate bins of hardware.
This morning, the lady who answered MEC's phone said that they only sell sport climbing gear.
So this afternoon I am going to visit Carleton Safety in hopes of buying some fall-arrest hardware.
